“I got’cha covered.” - A phrase we use to reassure someone else that they are not alone or that you will stand in for them to meet an obligation. We use this term a lot around the church. “Hey Kirk, I won’t be here next week and I’m scheduled for communion devotion.”… - “ok, I got’cha covered.” - “Hey Dennis, I’ll need help with communion prep…” – “OK, I got’cha covered.” “Hey Larry, we need another singer.” – “OK, I got’cha covered.” This is a great symbol to teamwork and a cooperative, serving spirit.
It’s only natural for us to step in and help wherever we possibly can. Our Heavenly Father did the same for us. He saw what we would be facing in this life and the power of our enemy and so, he didn’t leave us to fend for ourselves… he has us covered.
Take minute and grab your Bible… I’ll wait. Got it? Good – now let’s turn to Ephesians 6:10 and starting with that verse read through verse 20. …. - …. Did you see it? Did you see how God said, “I got’cha covered?” He is covering our lives with some incredible gifts. He has given us Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Faith, Salvation, Scripture, and the Holy Spirit availed to us through prayer.
He has us covered. We know this passage as “The Full Armor of God”, I like to see it as God’s promise to us that he has us covered. We’ve been equipped, protected and fueled to stay in the fight and stand our ground. We are not alone. We never stand alone.
Standing with you…
