Hello friends— Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice an be glad in it.” I have to ask the question… what is “this” day? Is it today? Is it a fixed point somewhere in our past? Or, is this a prophetic declaration of something yet to come? The answer… Yes. When written, this psalm was looking forward to the fulfillment of the work of the Messiah. This work was completed in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Now, in relation to you—yes, the work of Jesus is complete; but what about yours? Have you truly accepted in faith that Jesus lived, died and rose again; making payment for sin and receiving God’s wrath for the transgressions of the world. Do you accept the offer Jesus is presenting to you? My blood for your life? If you have … then truly this is the day the Lord has made and you can rejoice and be glad in it! If you have not; will you? Do not delay. Do not wait. You have heard the message and it is true. God loves you so much that He gave his one and only son so that you would not have to perish but can enjoy the assurance of eternal life. Make this your first priority. Take action today. Hear and believe. Repent of sin and confess the need for a savior. Accept his sacrifice, take on his identity through baptism and receive your salvation by the appeal of a good conscience toward God based in the resurrection of Jesus.
Do not wait. Today is the day!
