The Christian life is a journey. Becoming more and more like Jesus Christ is not something you do while sitting still. In Ephesians 4, Paul says we are to “grow” until we become like Christ. But growth involves change. The sad truth is there are some Christians who don’t grow, who quit changing, who reach a certain level of maturity and they just stay there. In this series we will seek to rediscover Christianity as a lifestyle, and not just as a mental pursuit. Over the course of nine weeks, we will examine the power of spiritual disciplines practiced by Jesus and his early followers but forgotten in today’s culture.

First Church of Christ is offering to pay half of the camp fees associated with Camp Nebowa for individuals and families connected to our church.  To get financial assistance for camp fees you will have to register for camp through our camp registraton form. You can do that online or by downloading the form and mailing it with half of the camp fees directly to us. We will register you for camp and send in the the fees.

An Opportunity Awaits!

One of First Church of Christ’s primary goals is to make MORE and BETTER disciples!

We’re excited to announce this opportunity for you to become a better disciple! This opportunity is called ROOTED. In Rooted, individuals establish firm roots in the Truth of God’s Word through personal study and then come together to discuss what they’re learning in a space where they are safe and known.

During the 10-week experience, you will go through various individual exercises (reading, prayer, journaling) and then meet weekly in groups to talk about what you've learned.

    •  Rooted provides opportunities to love God, love people in the church community, and serve the world in tangible ways.
    • It's a personal journey challenging you to deepen your connection with God, the Church, and your purpose in the big, epic story God is writing through human history.
    • Rooted provokes questions and conversations and offers beyond-what-is-comfortable group experiences designed to give you a glimpse of your story in God’s story.

Rooted is NOT just another curriculum to go through! It is a community experience, where people practice seven rhythms essential to a healthy relationship with Jesus. It becomes a catalyst for life-change.

    Meeting Times and Registration Information:

ROOTED will meet on Sunday evenings from 5:00 – 6:30 pm at the church building beginning Sunday, August 29. The ROOTED CELEBRATION DINNER will be held on Sunday, November 21 at 5:00 pm.
