Annual Community Thanksgiving Meal

Our Annual Community Thanksgiving Meal will be served at First Church of Christ located at 772 N. 2nd Street in Cherokee, Iowa. The church is nestled between North 2nd and North 1st streets with the main entrance on the east side of North 2nd Street (HWY 59).

Serving will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. or until food runs out, whichever comes first on Thanksgiving Day. There is plenty of parking and for those who have difficulty navigating stairs or are handicapped please feel free to park in the lower parking lot at the south end of the building.

The meal is FREE and a free will offering will be available to those who wish to contribute. Any amount left over after expenses will be donated to the Cherokee County Ministerial Association (CCMA).

For individuals who receive Mobile Meals, a meal can be delivered. More information on that will be provided in a flyer delivered with a participant’s usual Mobile Meal very soon.

To promote a sense of community and fellowship we want to encourage as many people as possible to attend this meal. There will be plenty of seating and good company for all. This is particularly true if you are away from family and friends. There are also plenty of opportunities open to volunteer with helping with the meal, whether it is serving or providing food. If this is of interest to you contact the First Church of Christ office 712-225-2667.

We are looking forward to once again serving the community with the Annual Community Thanksgiving meal at First Church of Christ in Cherokee. See you there!
