I'm New

new here? start here

Maybe you’re looking for a new church home. Maybe you’re not sure about church, but you’re looking for some hope.  Maybe somebody invited you, and you want to be polite, so you said, “Yes, sure I’ll come,” and now you’re not sure what you’ve gotten yourself into.

We get it.  To be a new person in a new place can be awkward.  It’s intimidating, especially when that new place is a church.

Regardless of what you believe about God or wherever you might be on your spiritual journey, whatever has gone on in your past or whatever you are currently walking through, you are welcome here.  In fact, at First Church of Christ, you can belong before you believe.

Here’s why: We believe that God loves you as you are, He receives you as you are, and He cares about you just as you are.  But here’s the really good news: He loves you so much that He refuses to leave you as you are.

If you have doubts, questions, and struggles, and if your life is messy – if your life is anything like ours – First Church of Christ is a safe place to bring those things and meet the God who loves you so much.

We meet for about 70 minutes together every Sunday morning, and we go through a series of talks – Message Series – that usually last about three to six weeks. We look a the Bible, why it matters, and how to apply it to our lives.

We don’t want to waste your time.  We want you to leave every week feeling that, regardless of what you currently believe about God, your experience at First Church of Christ was helpful and hopeful.

What To Expect

when should i arrive?

Our Sunday gatherings begin at 9:00 a.m. but we invite you to arrive a few minutes early to enjoy a cup of coffee and meet some of our members.

what happens on sunday?

Every Sunday we sing songs together, we pray both privately and corporately, we hear the Bible preached, and we participate in communion every week.

how do I connect?

We want to get to know you and have you become a part of our church family. Please take time to introduce yourself and your family. When you pick up a bulletin at Sunday worship please fill out the visitors card.  You can also fill out our online Connection Card. Either way we are happy to get to know you.

what should I wear?

Our Sunday gatherings are casual and familial. We’re a church for people from all walks of life. Some dress up and some dress in jeans and t-shirts or hoodies. Please wear what you feel is comfortable and appropriate.

where should I park?

We have a large parking lot with three handicap parking spaces available close to the building. Please park appropriately according to how cars are lined up when you enter the parking lot. Out of courtesy we generally try to keep spaces closest to the building open for our senior and eldery members.

what do you offer children?

We provide a Children’s Church program that begins afer the opening worship songs and communion. Children in PreK – 5th grades are welcome to meet our volunteer teacher in the lobby at this time. The teacher will lead the children downstairs for their own church program.

We also have a nursery available for infants – 3 year olds. A volunteer is always available to provide care for your child while you enjoy the service. The nursery is located in room next to the sanctuary with a window view into the worship service complete with speakers to hear it.
