Before we can appreciate the depth of God's redeeming love, we must first come face to face with the reality of our own wandering hearts. In Hosea 3, we witness one of the most moving pictures of grace in all of Scripture as Hosea is commanded to pursue, purchase, and restore his unfaithful wife, Gomer. What appears at first to be a heartbreaking family story becomes a breathtaking portrait of the gospel itself. Just as Hosea paid the price to redeem the one who had rejected him, Jesus Christ has paid the ultimate price to redeem sinners who had wandered far from God.
