Lord of Our Motives

May 7, 2023

In our study of the Life of Christ, we come to a passage that deals with our motives. Why are we kind to people? Is it for their benefit or ours? Are we seeking to help them or manipulate them? Why do we do the things we do at work? Why do we do the things we do in the community? Why do we live moral lives? Is it because we genuinely want to please God or because we’re afraid not to? In Luke 11, when Jesus’ motives were questioned, he ended up exposing the hypocrisy of his accusers. Let’s study this passage in hopes that it will result in an alignment of our motives and actions.
